This case study explores the proposal, quotation and installation of a Domestic Fire Sprinkler System installed by Dorset & Axis Fire Sprinklers at Richmond House.

Dorset & Axis Fire Sprinklers have been awarded the work on behalf of Ameriscot Commercial, our design and proposal submitted and accepted by our client. The client needed to have their fire sprinkler system designed, installed, and commissioned by a reputable and certified company. They required an IFC-approved provider to ensure that the work would be of the highest quality and meet all the necessary safety standards, complying to domestic standards BS9251.

Our installation team have worked tirelessly to ensure that the work is being carried out to the highest standards. We have installed all CPVC Pipework, installed 690 Sprinkler heads and cover plates throughout the apartments and communal areas, we then need to install the sprinkler pump. The sprinkler pumps supply water to the installation control valves, the pump takes its water supply from a shared domestic water tank. The functioning of sprinklers is based on their sensitivity to heat, once the temperature in a room equipped with sprinklers rises to a constant 65 degrees Celsius, the sprinklers will automatically discharge water, effectively extinguishing the fire, containing the fire and preventing further damage.

Fire Sprinkler systems have the potential to prevent loss of life, property, and business. They not only offer protection against fire damage but also increase the likelihood of people escaping in the event of a fire. By limiting the intensity and scope of a fire, Sprinklers can also minimise financial losses.
