About Project:

In 1873, Jesse Carter undertook the restoration of a pottery site in Poole setting in motion a legacy that reshaped the landscape of UK pottery. Evolving from the production of architectural ceramics to vibrant decorative pieces, Poole Pottery flourished under the stewardship of Owen Carter during the 1920s. The addition of designers John Adams and Harold Stabler propelled the brand to new heights, establishing industry standards with their innovative designs.

The 1960s and 1970s witnessed the zenith of Poole Pottery’s creativity, characterised by the bold and captivating Delphis and Studio designs. Despite recent restructuring, the rich heritage of Poole Pottery endures as a testament to creativity and craftsmanship, cherished by enthusiasts worldwide.

Today, the primary Poole Pottery factory operates within Middleport Pottery, situated in Stoke-on-Trent, following the closure of the original Poole factory. The historic building underwent demolition and transformation into 64 vibrant sea-side flats. Axis Fire Sprinkler was entrusted with the task of installing a category 2 Sprinkler system, designed to B.S.9251:2014 standards. Their responsibility consisted of the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of the sprinkler system to meet domestic standards.

The dedicated sprinkler team installed CPVC pipework throughout the building, pump and testing facilities and sprinkler heads incorporating the RD208 design, renowned for their sleek, flat profile and compact diameter of 2-5/8 inches (68mm). The push-on and/or thread-on, thread-off design of the concealed cover plate assembly ensured effortless installation, making it the preferred choice for prioritising aesthetics without compromising on performance. Tailored for residential settings, including homes, hotels, and other accommodations, the Model RD208 delivers unparalleled appeal and functionality and is perfect within Vespian Road.

This sprinkler installation equips the new residents with life-saving equipment, as the primary purpose of a fire sprinkler system is to save lives. In the event of a fire, sprinklers swiftly suppress and extinguish flames, safeguarding lives and protecting property. Overall, the presence of a fire sprinkler system at Vespian Road is indispensable for ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of occupants.
